Weight Conversion Table

GSM (Grams per Square Meter) and OZ (Ounces per Square Yard) are two common units used to measure the weight or density of fabric.

GSM measures the weight of a fabric per unit area, specifically the number of grams per square meter. For example, if a fabric has a GSM of 100, it means that one square meter of that fabric weighs 100 grams.

OZ, on the other hand, measures the weight of a fabric per unit area in ounces per square yard. For instance, if a fabric has a weight of 6 ounces per square yard, it means that one square yard of that fabric weighs 6 ounces.

Converting between GSM and OZ involves converting the units from grams to ounces and from square meters to square yards. The conversion factor is typically 1 GSM = 0.0295 OZ (approximately), which means that to convert GSM to OZ, you multiply the GSM value by this conversion factor.

So, for example, if you have a fabric with a GSM of 200, you can convert it to OZ by multiplying 200 by 0.0295, resulting in approximately 5.9 OZ.

This conversion allows individuals to understand fabric weights in different measurement systems, which can be useful for various purposes such as manufacturing, purchasing, or comparing fabrics across different regions or industries.
